The TC-100 Trickle Charger is designed to trickle charge vented nickel-cadmium aircraft batteries. The charger is calibrated to a regulated current and voltage set-point that allows full battery capacity to be maintained while the battery is on the shelf. The TC-100 is usable right from the box and begins trickle charging the battery when connected to an AC power outlet. The manual addresses the yearly calibration procedure as well as the set-up procedure for different amp-hour batteries. The design allows for quick connections without risk of reverse polarity through the Elcon type connector. The unit also flush-mounts to the battery, which minimizes restriction of shelf space and still provides access to the nameplate data on the battery. The “GO” (Green LED), “NO GO” (Red LED operation allows for quick visual reference of battery health. With the green LED is lit, the battery is ready for use. With the red LED is lit, the battery is in need of service. |
